Baker, Lydia [EHD]
From: Piper, Justin <Justin.Piper@BNSF.com>
Sent: Friday, May 28, 2021 9:14 AM
To: Baker, Lydia [EHD]
Cc: carlos Sanchez (Carlos.Sanchez@USEcology.com); Brady, Derek
Subject: Stockton IMF - Fuel Spill 5/28/21 (PRIZ 88090)
CAUTION:This email is originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the
sender and know the content is safe.
Ms. Baker—To follow up on our earlier conversation, I was able to confirm how the waste from this cleanup will be
handled. US Ecology will cleanup the small stain on the asphalt and fuel stain within our hazmat containment
cell. Waste will be consolidated within an approved container and left on-site pending profile and disposal. A
temporary EPA ID#will be requested by BNSF as this is from a trailer which is in transportation. Profiling and disposal
will then take place.
I've included Derek Brady who is the Manager, Environmental Operations for BNSF and who oversees waste
disposal. Also copied is Carlos Sanchez who is with US Ecology who's crews are doing the work and will coordinate with
Derek on waste handling.
Thank you,
Justin Piper, CHMM
Director, Hazardous Materials
BNSF Railway
360-553-8672 (cell)
360-418-6268 (office)
www.BNSFHAZMAT.com
1
