At1ENDMENT TO AGREEMENT <br />S AMENDMENT made and entered into this = day of <br />1978, to the agreement of May 6,, 1975, by and <br />between the TTY OF STOCKTON, a municipal corporation of the State <br />of California, hereinafter referred to as "CITY", and the COUNTY <br />OF SAN JOAQUIN, a political subdivision of the State of California, <br />hereinafter referred to as "COUNTY"; <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, CITY contemplates the abandonment of the Airport_ <br />Sewage Treatment Plant upon construction of an Airport Interceptor <br />connecting said facility to CITY'S sewage collection system at <br />Sperry Road; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY has received Step I and Step II Federal and <br />State Clean Water Grants for planning and design of said Airport <br />Interceptor; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY has finalized design, anticipates receiving a <br />Step III Construction Grant, and further proposes to award <br />a con- <br />tract for the construction of the Airport Interceptor contingent <br />upon the receipt of said grant; and <br />WHEREAS, <br />it is to the mutual best interest of CITY and COUNTY <br />to construct an eighteen inch (18') diameter <br />Airport Interceptor; <br />and ' <br />WHEREAS, the SCate and Federal granting agencies have deL'er- <br />that <br />mined <br />the Step III Grant will be based upon a ten inch (10") <br />diameter interceptor. The difference in cost between an eighteen <br />inch (18") and ten inch (1011) diameter interceptor to be borne by <br />CITY and COUNTY; <br />and <br />
