The continuous monitoring
system shall be maintained to detect the entry of the liquid or vapor phase of the hazardous substance stored in the
primary containment into the secondary containment and to detect water intrusion into the secondary containment.
Correct immediately by having a properly licensed, trained, and certified contractor replace the failed component with a
functional component(LG 113-x listed, if applicable) and obtain a permit within one business day from the EHD. If the
failed component can't be replaced immediately, there is a possibility that the [GRADE] UST system may be red
tagged to prevent fuel inputs.
This is a minor violation.
305 HSC 25290.1(e)VPH monitoring of the interstitial spaces of the UST system is not maintained.
The communication of the interstitial space inside the Under Dispenser Containment(UDC) 3/4 failed when tested,
indicating that no continuous communication exists between the entire interstitial space. The underground tank
system shall be designed and constructed with a continuous monitoring system capable of detecting the entry of the
liquid or vapor-phase of the hazardous substance stored in the primary containment into the secondary containment
and capable of detecting water intrusion into the secondary containment. Correct immediately by having a properly
licensed, trained, and certified contractor replace the failed component with a functional component(LG 113-x listed, if
applicable) and obtain a permit within one business day from the EHD. If the failed component can't be replaced
immediately, there is a possibility that the UST system may be red tagged to prevent fuel inputs
This is a repeat violation, Class II.
308 CCR 2636(f) Failed to maintain a continuous monitoring system that activates an audible and visual alarm.
The 91 annular sensor failed to activate an audible and visual alarm when tested to ensure continuous monitoring of
the tank system. All monitoring equipment shall be maintained to activate an audible and visual alarm or stop the flow
of product at the dispenser when it detects a leak. The sensor was troubleshot by the technician and retested during
the inspection.
This is a minor violation.
319 CCR 2635, 2637.1, 2665, 2712 No spill bucket, failed to contain 5 gallons, no means to keep it empty, or failed to be
tested.
The 87 spill container failed when tested. All spill containers shall have a minimum capacity of five gallons and be
capable of containing a spill or overfill until it is detected or cleaned up. Immediately contact a properly licensed,
trained, and certified contractor to repair or replace the spill container under permit and inspection of the EHD.
This is a minor violation.
FA0006439 PR0231070 SCO01 01/29/2019
EHD 23-01 Rev.09/22/16 Page 6 of 7 Underground Storage Tank Program OIR
