All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Pool is currently closed and lacks safety equipment. Before it re-opens provide life ring with rope and <br /> pole with bolted hook. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use.Pools shall have at <br /> minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br /> rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br /> (CCR 65540) <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Free chlorine level is currently zero(pool is currently closed due to major leak)Level shall be 2.0-10.0 <br /> before it reopens.Also in order to prevent water from turning green and mosquitoes ,water shall have at least some <br /> chlorine. If pool can't be repaired any time soon, recommend training water(this may damage the plaster). <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #19 Depth Markers <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The 8 foot maker faded. Paint or replace tile. Correct before pool re-opens. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Depth markers shall be clearly marked in the following locations:at maximum depth,at minimum depth,at <br /> each end, on both sides at each end, at the slope break, and along the perimeter of the pool at distances not to exceed 25 feet. Depth <br /> markers shall be 4 inches high in a contrasting color and be marked in units of feet and inches.For pool water depths 6 feet and <br /> shallower,markers with universal"NO DIVING"symbol shall be installed on the deck directly adjacent to the depth markers. (CBC 311 OB) <br /> #21 Water Level <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Water level is low and pump is not running. Before pool re-opens level shall be at tile rim line and pump <br /> shall be running. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION: The pool operator shall ensure that the pool water is maintained at a level that will allow continuous removal of <br /> surface debris through the pool skimming system.
