Sierra Chemical Co. <br />RCRA Contingency Plan <br />e. The incident requires a mass evacuation of a large area of life safety. <br />f. Even through the NFPA guidelines for this incident level indicate that the potential for <br />environmental impact is severe, due to the site engineering controls, the impact is <br />contained with Hazardous Waste Management Units (HWMUs). <br />g. Inl�ial In�Ident�Erttergen�y 131scovery <br />This section is used to provide general response mechanisms to all emergencies at the Sierra Chemical <br />Co. Facility to any given employee who believes they have observed a potential emergency. Emergency <br />responses to specific events are outlined in detail throughout this plan. A possible emergency can be <br />first recognized by an employee or may result from an automated sensor or alarm system such as the <br />chlorine and sulfur dioxide gas detectors, or a combination of both. <br />The first person to become aware of an incident shall immediately notify individuals in the surrounding <br />area of the incident.
