All violations must be comected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR OBSERVATIONS: Free chlorine level is too high at 14 ppm. Maintain chlorine levels at 2 —10 ppm. Correct immediately. A re -inspection is required to verify chlorine levels prior to opening pool to residents. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) #3 Safety Signs OBSERVATIONS: Diarrhea sign is not located at the entrance area of a pool. The pool operator shall post at the entrance area of a public pool, a sign in letters at least 1 inch (25 mm) high, that clearly states that persons with diarrhea and persons who have had diarrhea within the prior 14 days shall not enter the pool water. Correct within one week. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specffied. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 31208) #4 Safety Equipment OBSERVATIONS: The rope attached to the life ring was knotted, not allowing quick access to throw to the pool. Keep rope of life ring without knots when stored. Correct within one week. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at minimum one 12 foot fixed -length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17 -inch life ring with an attached throw rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. (CCR 65540) #7 Pool Deck OBSERVATIONS: The concrete and pool coping is not flush on the 5 foot end of pool. Concrete shall be maintained flush with the top of the pool coping. Correct within one month. CALCODE DESCRIPTION: An unobstructed 4 -foot wide deck of concrete or like material shall be provided and maintained /lush with the top of the pool coping. Deck shall extend completely around the pool and shall further extend 4 feet on both sides and to the rear of any diving board, ADA device, or slide.
