r
NORTH COUNTY RECYCLING CENTER AND SANITARY LANDFILL
RECYCLING PAD FIRE PROTECTION
The recycling pad is located approximately 100 feet south of the
soil stockpile. The pad is 350 feet in the north -south direction
and 200 feet in the east -west direction. It will be used to
store metal, wood, tires, and other recyclables.
There are several sources of water on-site {see attached figure)
to provide fire protection. There are three operating water
wells on-site with adapters for use with fire trucks. The well
just east of the pad supplies a man made pond with water which
can also be used for fire control. In addition, there are two
water trucks on-site which can be utilized.
Adequate spacing will be maintained to allow travel of fire
trucks between stockpiles. In addition, a 20 foot fire break
will be maintained around the entire pad. The multiple sources
of water, good pad access, and fire break will provide sufficient
firs Protection for the recycling pad.
LLIND-PETERRURAL
COU
FIRfV t3Rf
17725 E, Hiway 26 -- P. 0.
