Box 1810 <br /> Stockton, California 95201 <br /> AT U GFc OUA-9 WATER 1V0NI7O v VrELL SPORKPLAN,NORTHCOUNTY <br /> RECYCLING CENTER AND SANITARYLANDFILL,SAN JOA QEVV COUNTY(Case File No. <br /> 3161) <br /> Regional Board staff has completed review of the"Work Plan-New Groundwater Monitoring Well" <br /> dated 8 October 1999. The County submitted this workplan and schedule in response to our letter dated <br /> 16 July 1999. The proposed location of the new monitoring well is acceptable and Board staff <br /> encourages the county to proceed with plans to install and monitor the well. Your schedule indicates <br /> that design plans for the well will be submitted to the Regional Board for approval in December. You <br /> consultant should review the design of the existing wells and if appropriate,the new well should be <br /> constructed in the same manner. Construction of the well shall include adequate well development and <br /> records of field installation(soil boring log and well construction details) and development shall be <br /> maintained. The soil boring log for the well shall describe the soil characteristics adequately and shall <br /> use.the Unified Soil Classification System to classify soils. The field activities shall include a survey of <br /> the top of casing elevation and ground surface elevation at the well location. All field records shall be <br /> submitted to this staff in a report that shall be submitted within 30 days of completion of field activities. <br /> Prior to constructing the new well, The Department of Public Works shall obtain the appropriate permit <br /> from the local permitting agency.
