However,
groundwater monitoring wells G-7 and G-8 are down gradient from the landfill and provide a
monitoring network for the determination of a release from the site. One additional groundwater
monitoring well (G-9) was installed in September 2017. A pump has not been obtained for this
monitoring well and the initial sampling event will occur in the first quarter 2018 and be
presented in the First Semi-annual 2018 Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Report.
Additionally, as part of the response to the October 2017 Notice of Violation, three additional
replacement wells for G -1A (new G-10), G -3D (G-11), and G-6 (G-12) are planned for
installation in 2018.
Concentrations of field and monitoring parameters were below established concentration limits
in down gradient wells G-7 and G-8 during the 2nd semi-annual 2017 monitoring period.
Samples could not be collected from wells G -1A, G -2A, G -3D, G-4, or G-6 during this monitoring
period due to low water levels. However, water level measurements could be collected in these
wells for the purpose of determining that the groundwater flow direction is to the north towards
wells G-7 and G-8.
VOCs were not detected in the downgradient groundwater monitoring wells sampled during this
period.
The lysimeters did not yield enough water for sampling, indicating no detectable leaks from the
liner in those areas. Unsaturated zone monitoring will continue in accordance with the WDRs.
1810 East Hazelton Avenue I Stockton, California 95205 1 T 209 468 3000 1 F 209 468 2999
