1.1 PURPOSE <br />This work plan presents the procedures for the installation of groundwater <br />monitoring wells at North County Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill <br />(NCRCSL). <br />1.2 SITE DESCRIPTION <br />NCRCSL is located at 17720 East Harney Lane, approximately nine miles <br />east of Lodi. It is a single solid waste management unit, designated Class <br />III, accepting non -hazardous municipal solid waste and inert waste. The <br />site is 185 acres in area, comprised of lined modules, each constructed on <br />an as -needed basis. The landfill is expected to close in 2070, based on <br />current disposal rates and current permitted capacity. <br />1.3 REASON FOR INSTALLING MONITORING WELL <br />The current down gradient well G -1A, G3D, G-6 are dry. The new wells <br />are replacement wells. <br />r • _ �7 1117117:4310 <br />The location of the new GW wells are away from the refuse footprint <br />(Figure 1). Well installation work will not include drilling into refuse or <br />contact with refuse. Well locations will be adjusted in the field based on <br />site conditions. The wells will be surveyed after installation. The well <br />depths are listed in Figure 2. <br />1.5 CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE <br />Solid Waste Division (SWD) will schedule installation of the GW monitoring <br />wells after approval of drilling permit from San Joaquin County <br />Environmental Health Department (EHD). Drilling and installation of each <br />GW well will take minimum of three (3) working days. The work hours will <br />be Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 4.30 pm. <br />1.6 UTILITIES CLEARANCE <br />Prior to drilling, Underground Service Alert (USA) will be notified. Drilling <br />location near overhead power lines will be checked for drill rig clearances <br />before drilling.
