In April 2017 the depth to water (DTW) was 175.92 ft, in
January 2017 the well was dry at 176.28 ft, and in October 2016 well was dry at 176.45
ft. This indicates that the current DTW could fluctuate a couple of feet below a depth of
176 ft. Therefore, the proposed depth of replacement well G -1B is approximately 195 ft.
This proposed depth places a 20 -ft long screen approximately 17 ft below the assumed
water table.
• Downgradient Well G -3E -- G-31) had a DTW of 169.70 ft on October 16, 2017. The
well was reported as dry at 169.73 ft in August 2017. The water level was 167.12 ft in
April 2017, 169.29 ft in January 2017 and 169.8 ft in October 2016. Therefore, the
proposed depth of replacement well G -3E is approximately 187 ft. This proposed depth
places a 20 -ft long screen approximately 17 ft below the assumed water table.
• Downgradient Well G -6A -- G-6 had a DTW of 161.9 ft on October 16, 2017. The water
level was 161.73 ft in August 2017, 161.66 ft in April 2017, 161.65 ft in January 2017
and 161.98 ft in October 2016. Therefore, the proposed depth of replacement well G -6A
is approximately 179 ft. This proposed depth places a 20 -ft long screen approximately 17
ft below the assumed water table.
However, water level measurements taken at the existing wells at the time of well installation
may be used to modify these proposed well depths.
Well Location - The location of the replacement wells will be approximately 15 feet from the
existing wells as shown on the attached figure. The exact location will be determined in the field,
based on a suitable location that is relatively level for the drill rig to set up on. The well location
will be surveyed after installation.
Well Installation Schedule - The County will schedule installation of the replacement wells
after the approval of a drilling permit from the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department (EHD). Because the County has installed several monitoring wells at their various
landfills this fiscal year, the County only has sufficient budgeted funds to install one additional
replacement well before July 2018. The other two replacement wells will be installed in the
2018/2019 fiscal year, which will commence after July 2018. The County cannot expend
North County 2017 NOV Final 120817.docx
