To accomplish this
end, every reasonable effort will be made to implement and enforce effective Accident and Fire
Prevention Programs as well as promote Health Awareness. In that regard and to insure
compliance with Title 8, section 3202, as amended, of CAL/OSHA General Industry Safety
Order, we are establishing this Illness &Injury Prevention Plan. A copy of this is available in
the office.
Employees have the following rights under this program:
1. To be advised of occupational safety and health hazards and receive
training on safe work conditions, practices and personal protective
equipment.
2. To provide information to the employer on safety hazards, request
information or make safety suggestions without fear of reprisal.
Employees have a duty to comply with the following requirements to make the workplace safe
for themselves and fellow employees:
1. Know the Safety Rules and Regulations for the general work area and for you job.
2. Comply with safe work practices and personal protective equipment requirements
for your job.
3. Report unsafe conditions and injuries/illnesses to your supervisor.
Employees must comply with the requirements listed above or face the disciplinary actions
outlined in this plan.
If you have any questions about this program, ask your supervisor, or Scott Stortroen, General
Manager. Safety information may be confidentially reported using the safety suggestion box and
the forms provided. It is our belief at Tracy material Recovery Facility and Solid Waste
Transfer, Inc., that safety is a state of mind and it is the responsibility of each of us to, not only
"Think Safety",but to always be aware that"The Safe Way is the Right Way".
Scott Stortroen, General Manager December 29, 2004
2
