TRACY MATERIAL RECOVERY AND TRANSFER STATION
AMENDMENT TO RFI
GLASS BUNKERS
I The bunkers are located on an existing concrete pad at the southeast comer of the truck
parking and storage area as shown on the attached site plan.
2. There are three bunkers, each measuring 20 feet x 40 feet in plan view. They are
constructed with '/2 inch steel plate supported and reinforced with steel beams and angles
and bolted to the concrete pad. Details are shown on the attached drawings.
3. The bunkers are used for the storage of glass separated from the residential and
commercial waste stream. There are three bunkers each used for clear, brown, and green
glass respectively.
4. Glass is delivered to the bunkers in 20 cubic yard and 6 cubic yard containers. The 20
cubic yard containers are delivered by Company drop box trucks from its recycling
facility in the City of Tracy. This consists of 2 trucks per week. The 6 yard containers
are transported by fork lift from the adjacent material recovery facility on site. This
consists of 2 containers per day.
The trucks arrive at the site through the scales and deposit the glass at the bunkers. The
fork lift goes directly from the recycling building on site to the bunkers.
The glass is then loaded on outgoing trailers for delivery to processing centers.
Bunkers are cleaned as needed when the glass is loaded for processing.
Drainage is to the existing inlets on the pavement and contained in the on site retention
pond.
