All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The spa water chlorine level is greater than 20ppm (inspector titrated to 20ppm / inspector used chlorine <br />test strips and the strips indicated between 25-50ppm Cl [closer to 50ppm Cl]). <br />Spa closed at 12:15pm this date <br />The spa shall remain closed until the Cl level is between 3.0 to 10.0 ppm Cl. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The pH level of the spa water is less than 7.0. The pH level of the pool water shall be between 7.2 and <br />7.8. <br />Spa closed at 12:15pm this date <br />The spa shall remain closed until the pH level is between 7.2 and 7.8. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #13 Cyanuric Acid Concentration <br />OBSERVATIONS: The Cyanuric acid level of the spa water is greater than 100 ppm. Take action to reduce the cya to less <br />than 100 ppm> Correct by next year. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain cyanuric acid concentration between 0.0 ppm and 100 ppm. (CCR 65530) <br /> #18 Pool Shell and Tile <br />OBSERVATIONS: The spa plaster has some pitting on the steps. Look into re-plastering the spa by next year. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool shells shall be white and have a smooth waterproof interior finish that will withstand repeated brushing, <br />and scrubbing. A spa pool may be finished in a light color other than white when approved by the enforcement agency.
