All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The chlorine of the spa is at 22.5ppm. Immediately reduce the chlorine level of the spa to 3.0 - 10.0 ppm <br />or face closure. <br />Corrective action taken: spa water was partially drained. Re-checked the chlorine level: 12.5ppm <br />Per pool tech, the spa is currently closed to residents and he will check to ensure the chlorine level is in proper range prior to <br />re-opening it (after the repair to the heater is done). <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open or in use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #11 Combined Chlorine Concentration <br />OBSERVATIONS: The combined chlorine level of the spa is 2.0 ppm. Reduce the combined chlorine level to 0.4ppm or <br />less. Correct ASAP. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain combined chlorine concentration below 0.4 ppm. (CCR 65530) Chemical quality <br />of pool water and indoor air quality at the pool site shall not cause adverse physiological effects, such as irritation of the eyes, lungs, or <br />skin. (CCR 65531) <br /> #13 Cyanuric Acid Concentration <br />OBSERVATIONS: The cyanuric acid level of the spa is greater than 100ppm. Reduce the cyanuric acid level to 100ppm or <br />less. Correct by next year. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain cyanuric acid concentration between 0.0 ppm and 100 ppm.
