In order to protect the ground water supply and your <br /> water source from potential degradation, please take the associated corrective actions. <br /> ❑ Inadequate concrete platform around wellhead. <br /> (SJC Water Well Standards, Section 4.10.—Surface Seal) <br /> Corrective Action: Repair or replace the concrete platform around the wellhead that extends two <br /> feet in all directions from the well casing. <br /> ❑ Lack of or inadequate sanitary seal at wellhead. <br /> (SJC Ord. Code,Title 9, Section 9-1115.5.—Well Regulations) <br /> Corrective Action: Install a sanitary seal between casing and well cover plate/seal all gaps and <br /> openings. <br /> ❑x Lack of Sampling Tap. <br /> (SJC Water well Standards, Section 4.13.—Sampling Tap) <br /> Corrective Action: Install a non-threaded sampling tap between the wellhead and the check valve <br /> or within three (3) feet of the well head. <br /> ❑x Lack of backflow prevention. <br /> (SJC Water Well Standards, Section 4.14.—Backflow Prevention) <br /> Corrective Action: Install an approved protective device to prevent backflow and/or back siphon <br /> into a well. <br /> ❑ Sounding tube or air vent not sealed. <br /> (SJC Water Well Standards, Section 4.13.—Sounding Tube/Air Vent Pipe) <br /> Corrective Action: Sounding Tube or Fill Pipe-Install a watertight, threaded cap at the upper end <br /> of the pipe.
