,HjTusekeepi ng Depa"r t <br />e 1%6 IM <br />4V <br />SAKI-PAK OPERATION CONTINUED... <br />STEP #12 Slide open the compartment door for general waste, and remove <br />the "Thermo -Indicator" strip: The lettering "OK" must be <br />black in color to indicate a satisfactory sterili"nation. Should <br />the latter "K" not be black in color, cease the procedure at <br />this point and notify your supervisor. Should the letters be <br />black in color, continue the operation with the next step. <br />STEP #13 Slide the compartment door to general waste closed and lock. <br />STEP #14 Depress the blue "Discharge" button once more and the sterilizer <br />chamber will return to the original location. <br />STEP #15 Depress the single "Compact" button, adjacent to the general <br />waste door, and the sterilized waste will be moved into the <br />receiver and compacted. <br />STEP #16 Once the contaminated waste has been properly disposed of, and <br />the unit is to be shut down, open both chambers individually <br />and, with the "cleaning wand", wash the interior of both the <br />"Biohazare" and "General Waste" units. Now, wash down the <br />exterior of the Sani-Pak system. <br />STEP #17 Record the following information into the appropriate log <br />book in the Environmental Services office area: <br />Heat/Temperature: Taken from the recorder (7 -day clock), <br />with each load. <br />Pressure (P.S.I.): Taken from pressure guage during cycle <br />with each load. <br />- Test Strips: Taken from waste chamber upon completion <br />of cycle, with each load. <br />- Bacteria Test: Run once per week with a load to be <br />sterilized.
