Calibration Procedure:
An authorized San -I -Pak service technician will run an Auto Calibration Cycle.
During the cycle the chamber is allowed to reach operating temperature and pressure and remain there for
20 minutes. This gives the temperature and pressure time to stabilize in the chamber. Twenty minutes after
reaching temperature and pressure the machine controller records the temperature. At this point the
temperature is compared to a steam table to see how close the temperature is to what the reading should be.
This is noted and an automatic correction is made to the temperature reading. All cycles from this point on
will use this corrected temperature reading. This reading is also verified using an additional temperature
probe connected to a fluke model 51 hand held temp unit that is calibrated and certified annually.
Once the calibration is complete the appropriate forms are completed with one copy going to the facility
and the others filed in the machine files at San -I -Pak.
