All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #1 Pool Gates MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: Door knob is lacking for the entrance gate. <br />Maintenance installed a door knob at gate, however door does not latch. <br />Maintenance repaired so that the door latches. <br />Corrected onsite. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. <br />Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area <br />except where otherwise prohibited by law. (CBC 3119B) Pool operator shall keep gates and doors leading into the pool area well <br />maintained. (CCR 65535) <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: pH is greater than 8.0. <br />Corrected onsite 3 cups of acid added and pH is now at 7.8. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br />OBSERVATIONS: The writing on the safety signs is fading (the name and address of the facility, capacity number, hours <br />and the nearest emergency services). <br />Re-write so that these items are visible. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br />letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar <br />permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br />OBSERVATIONS: The rope for the life ring is approximately 12"too short and the rope has knots. <br />Provide a rope that spans the width of the pool and that is free of knots. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope.
