Consistent with this mission, the Board of <br />Directors, Medical Staff, and Administration have established and provided ongoing support for the <br />Medical Waste Management Program. The purpose of the Medical Waste Management Program is to <br />define the program and to identify and manage materials known to have the potential to harm humans <br />or the environment. The plan includes processes designed to minimize the risk of harm. The processes <br />include education, procedures for safe handling, transporting and use, storage and disposal, and <br />management of spills and exposures. <br />11. Scope: <br />The Medical Waste Management Program is designed to address the risks of the variety of substances <br />addressed in this plan pose to the environment of Dameron Hospital Association and to the patients, <br />staff, and visitors of the organization. The program is designed to assure compliance with applicable <br />codes and regulations. <br />Dameron Hospital Association is registered status as a large quantity generator. SHARPS -Actually or potentially -contaminated syringes, needles, blades, broken glass. <br />3.
