Rrs�°' lar Waste Handling Page 2 of 2 <br />a. <br />Tie tops of full waste cans liners. <br />b. <br />If liners are overfilled, carefully remove some of the waste and place it in a <br />separate liner. <br />c. <br />Lift full liners so that there is no contact with your body. <br />d. <br />Place full waste liners in waste tipper cart. <br />e. <br />Replace liner in waste can if necessary. <br />3. Transport <br />cart to compactor area. <br />a. <br />Always close the cover when transporting cart. <br />b. <br />Replace full tipper carts with an empty one. Never remove a trash cart without <br />replacing it immediately. <br />c. <br />Move quietly and cautiously. <br />4. Dispose <br />of waste. <br />a. <br />Empty tipper cart into the trash compactor by using the lift arm. Follow Trash <br />Compactor Operating Procedure #180 to place trash into compactor. <br />b. <br />Watch the loads for improperly disposed of medical waste. If medical waste is <br />found, remove the whole liner and report the incident to your lead position. <br />DO NOT allow the medical waste to be placed into the compactor. It must be <br />handled as medical waste and go through a sterilization process. <br />c. <br />Be extremely careful that the liner does not make contact with your body. <br />Important 'Things To Remember: <br />1- Wear utillity gloves when handling regular waste. <br />2- Never transport regular waste in the same cart with medical waste. <br />3- Never transport regular waste in the same cart with soiled linen. <br />40- Keep transport carts clean.
