Violations thatare classifiedas "MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br />be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br />#10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br />OBSERVATIONS: The chlorine level of the pool is 0.0 ppm. Increase the free chlorine level to the range of 2.0 to 10.0 ppm. <br />Correct immediately to avoid closure. <br />Unable to correct on site. <br />Pool closed at 11:15am <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Public pools, when open Orin use, shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br />the following concentrations., 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br />or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools, and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations: 3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br />chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br />#9 Ladders and Handrails i <br />OBSERVATIONS: The railing at the shallow end is loose / wobbling. Tighten up the loose handrail by 1 week. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool. Ladders and <br />handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed. At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point <br />above the top of the lowest step. Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 31118) Pool <br />operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained. (CCR 65535) <br />#15 Operation Records <br />OBSERVATIONS: No pool records available. Start maintaining pool logs on site. Daily readings shall include chlorine and <br />pH. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall test the disinfectant residual, pH, and spa water temperature a minimum of once per day. <br />Cyanuric acid concentration shall be tested once per month if cyanuric acid is used. Combined chlorine shall be tested as often as <br />necessary to maintain the concentration below 0.4 ppm. Pool operator shall maintain written records of all maintenance and test results <br />for at least two years and shall submit those records to the enforcement agency upon request.
