AutoZone has created a scan to bucket
program that tells the AutoZone employee which bucket to place the waste in or if it is a non-hazardous item,
such as seat cover what to do with it. The scan to bucket technology was created using the SDS to determine
the correct disposition of the waste. The store can also reach out to our vendor to ask in the event the
scanning software is down. The Store Manager has stated that the chemicals were there awaiting
determination. He has been re-trained.
Violation #110- Failed to keep signed copy of manifests from the designated facility for three years.
OBSERVATION: Designated facility signed and dated copy of Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest (UHWM)
015956421FLE (6/24/2021) was not found on-site.
Please see attached missing manifest
Violation #605 - Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste.
OBSERVATION: Hazardous waste containers were observed on-site with incomplete labeling.
The vendor who changed the labels of the buckets has been informed of there mistake, the store has made
the corrections to the labels where they now have the correct store identification information on the waste
containers.
Please let me know if this will suffice in closing the violations. Again I am sorry for the tardiness of the
response.
Regards!
Bryan Blair
