LIVE OAK GEO ENVIRONMENTAL, INC.
407 W. Oak St., Lodi, CA 95240 •: (209) 369-0375 ❖ logelodi.com
September 22, 2020
Project Number: 20-47
Larry Kahlon
9590 Cherry Grove Cir.
Sacramento, CA 95829
Regarding: Percolation Test
APN 055-250-21
4040 W. Kingdon Rd., Lodi, CA (11.5 Acres)
Mr. Kahlon:
Per your request, Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) has completed a percolation test
for the subject Site. We understand that you are planning to place a new modular home on the
Site, located at 4040 West Kingdon Road, Lodi, California (Plate 1). The San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department has requested that a percolation test be completed prior to
issuing septic permits.
Soil Boring
On September 15, 2020, Live Oak excavated a shallow soil boring on the Site for the purpose
of conducting a percolation test. The boring was four inches in diameter, 3.27 feet deep, and
was excavated by hand auger. The location of the boring is indicated on the attached Plate 2.
Soil Log
The soil in the boring was observed to be sandy silt to the full depth of the hole. Cemented
conditions were encountered from 2.5 feet down.
Preparation and Presaturation of Percolation Test Hole
After the shallow boring was advanced by hand auger, the test hole was completed for the
percolation test. Approximately two inches of pea gravel were placed in the bottom of the
open soil boring, followed by a 2.0 -inch diameter PVC pipe with perforations on the bottom.
Pea gravel was then used to backfill a few inches of the annular space.
Live Oak presaturated the percolation test hole approximately 24 hours prior to the percolation
testing. The hole was filled with water to a height of 12 inches above the bottom of the boring
for the presaturation. On the day of testing, the hole was found to be intact and dry.
Environmental Engineering Geology Geophysics
