GENERAL MECHANICAL <br />MATERIALS AND METHODS <br />Section 15050 <br />15-1207 <br />content with distilled water and shall consist of clean, natural, washed -sand, hard, and <br />durable particles varying from fine particles to particles of such size that all will pass through <br />a 3/8 -inch screen, not less than 90 percent will pass through a 1/4 -inch screen, and not <br />more than 25 percent will pass through a No. 50 screen. <br />Any backfill placed under this contract which subsides or settles below the adjacent finished <br />grade or paving level during the guarantee period shall be brought to grade by the <br />Contractor by adding compacted backfill or additional paving in paved areas. <br />3.14 ELECTRICAL WORK: <br />A. Adequate working space shall be provided around electrical equipment in compliance with <br />the National Electric Code and other applicable codes or ordinances. The mechanical work <br />shall be coordinated with the Electrical Work in order to comply with these requirements. <br />Any work which does not conform to these regulations shall be properly corrected without <br />additional cost to the Owner. <br />B. Furnish and install all line voltage and low -voltage temperature control wiring in the <br />Mechanical Work by the Temperature Control Sub -Contractor, including all interlock wiring <br />between motor starter coils, interlock relays, and temperature control equipment. Unless <br />noted otherwise, this does not include primary control wiring between starters and push <br />button or other manual starter switch or branch power circuits required for temperature <br />control systems. <br />C. Temperature control equipment, including relays shown on control diagram, shall be <br />furnished and installed by the Temperature Control Subcontractor. <br />D. Electrical devices with piping connections, such as solenoid valves, insertion thermostats, <br />strap -on aquastats, and similar items which are to be wired under the Electrical Work or by <br />the Temperature Control Subcontractor, shall be installed by the Mechanical Contractor. <br />E. Equipment furnished in this work that is factory wired but requires modification to internal <br />wiring to meet specifications or drawing requirements shall have such internal modifications <br />made at factory before shipment. <br />F. All electrical work and equipment, including internal wiring, must comply with applicable <br />codes and applicable portions of electrical specifications. Run line and low -voltage control <br />wiring in conduit. Conduit for temperature control wiring shall be responsibility of <br />Mechanical Contractor and shall be of type specified in electrical specifications. <br />3.15 CARE AND CLEANING: <br />A. Repair or replace broken, damaged, or otherwise defective parts, materials, and work. <br />Leave entire work in condition satisfactory to Architect. At completion, carefully clean and <br />adjust equipment, fixtures, and trim that are installed as part of this work. Leave systems <br />and equipment in satisfactory operating condition. <br />B. Drain and flush piping to remove grease and foreign matter. Thoroughly clean out flush <br />valves, traps, strainers, and pressure -reducing valves. <br />13 <br />
