WET -PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS <br />Section 15360 <br />15-1207 <br />C. Drains <br />Install auxiliary drains at low point in the system as required. Install the <br />inspector's test drain at the most remote and highest point in system from the <br />main riser. The inspectors' test valve connection shall be located in a readily <br />accessible location. Use angle and/or globe type drain valves. Five or fewer <br />trapped heads may be drained through a fitting or plugged outlet. Pipe drain <br />valves shall discharge as shown on the drawings, and as approved by the <br />architect, outside building unless noted otherwise. Install in accordance with <br />NFPA 13. <br />2. All piping in finished areas must be run concealed above ceilings, in walls or as <br />shown and noted on the plans. Piping shall be run so as to occur on the warm <br />side of all building insulation. The location of exposed piping, if permitted at all, <br />shall be approved by the engineer and architect. <br />3.02 SPRINKLER HEAD LOCATIONS <br />A. Sprinkler heads shall be located in finished ceilings, soffits, overhangs, etc., in <br />accordance with NFPA and CBC requirements but conforming to ceiling lighting, <br />and building modules which may require additional heads for symmetry. <br />B. Sprinkler heads in the areas without ceilings shall be located on exposed piping <br />run to conform to building lines and as approved by the Architect. The location of <br />all piping, heads and equipment shall be submitted for final approval by the <br />Architect who shall have final authority of location of same. The contractor shall <br />allow for additional sprinkler heads which may be required for aesthetic purposes <br />and where allowed by codes. <br />C. Heads in exterior walls and exterior soffits shall be located as shown on <br />architectural exterior elevations or as approved by the architect. <br />3.03 COORDINATION <br />A. The sprinkler contractor shall be responsible to coordinate the location of <br />sprinkler piping with all other trades such as duct work, electrical work and <br />plumbing work. The sprinkler contractor may be required to off -set and modify <br />the sprinkler system to coordinate the sprinkler system with all other trades <br />systems as allowed by codes and as shown and/or detailed. All sprinkler piping <br />shall clear all other building services by at least 1 inch. <br />3.04 REPORTS <br />A. The system must be inspected, tested, approved and certified by the owner's <br />insurance carrier, DSA, and local fire department before acceptance of the <br />project. <br />
