EXHAUST FANS AND HOODS <br />Section 15880 <br />15-1207 <br />C. Provide backdraft damper in neck of each relief air hood <br />2.05 ROOF CURBS <br />A. Provide manufacturer's standard shop -fabricated units, modified if necessary to comply with <br />project requirements. <br />B. Fabricate structural framing for units of structural quality sheet steel formed to <br />manufacturer's standard profiles for coordination with roofing, insulation and deck <br />construction. Include 45 degree cant strips and deck flanges with offsets to accommodate <br />roof insulation. Weld corners and seams to form watertight units. <br />C. Sloping Roof Decks: For deck slopes of 1" per foot and more slope, fabricate support units <br />to form level top edge. <br />D. Unless scheduled otherwise, curbs height to be 14". <br />E. Unless scheduled otherwise, curbs to be fabricated of 14 gauge metal. <br />F. Provide pressure treated wood nailer, not less than 1-5/8" thick and of not less than width of <br />support wall assembly. Anchor nailer securely to top of metal frame unit. <br />G. Insulate units inside structural support wall with rigid glass fiber insulation board of <br />approximately 3 Ib. density and 1-1/2" minimum thickness, except as otherwise indicated. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 GENERAL <br />A. Install fans and ventilators in accordance with equipment manufacturer's installation <br />instructions, and with recognized industry practices, to ensure that equipment complies with <br />requirements and serves intended purposes. <br />B. Install flexible connections between fan inlet and discharge ductwork. Metal bands of <br />connectors are to be parallel with 1" (minimum) flex between ductwork and fan while <br />running. <br />C. Flexible connections located outdoors shall be provided with a sheet metal sun shield. <br />D. Install fan with vibration isolation as indicated. Adjust isolators to prevent tension n flexible <br />connectors when fan is operating. <br />E. Supply and install sheaves as necessary for final air balancing. <br />F. Ensure air distribution equipment is wired properly, with rotation in direction indicated and <br />intended for proper performance. <br />3.02 ROOF CURBS: <br />A. Furnish roof curbs to roofing installer for installation. <br />4 <br />
