Where inserts are omitted, drill through concrete slab from below and <br />provide through -bolt with recessed square steel plate and nut flush with <br />top of slab. <br />C. Install conduit and raceway support and spacing in accordance with the <br />California Electrical Code. <br />D. Install all support devices according to manufacturer's guidelines and <br />recommendations. <br />E. Do not fasten supports to pipes, ducts, mechanical equipment, or conduit. <br />F. Do not drill through structural framing members. <br />G. Do not support equipment or fixtures from the roof deck. Provide necessary <br />framing and joist hangers to span between structural members to locate hangers <br />properly. <br />H. Install multiple conduit runs on common hangers. <br />I. Supports: <br />1. Fabricate supports from structural steel or formed steel channel. Install <br />hexagon head bolts to present neat appearance with adequate strength <br />and rigidity. Install spring lock washers under nuts. <br />2. Install surface mounted cabinets and panelboards with minimum of four <br />anchors. <br />3. In wet and damp locations install steel channel supports to stand cabinets <br />and panelboards 1 inch off wall. <br />4. Support vertical conduit at every [other] floor. <br />3.4 INSTALLATION - FIRESTOPPING <br />A. Install material at fire rated construction perimeters and openings containing <br />penetrating sleeves, piping, ductwork, conduit and other items, requiring <br />firestopping. <br />B. Apply primer where recommended by manufacturer for type of firestopping <br />material and substrate involved, and as required for compliance with required fire <br />ratings. <br />C. Apply firestopping material in sufficient thickness to achieve required fire and <br />smoke rating. <br />D. Fire Rated Surface: <br />1. Seal opening at floor, wall, partition, ceiling, and roof as follows: <br />a. Install sleeve through opening and extending beyond minimum of <br />1 inch on both sides of building element. <br />b. Size sleeve allowing minimum of 1 inch void between sleeve and <br />building element. <br />C. Pack void with backing material. <br />
