SOUND & COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS <br />Section 16700 <br />15-1207 <br />A. Shall be a CAP Compliant Applications Server, part #VE6025. The server shall provide automated <br />emergency messaging, event scheduling and clock control capability. It allows distribution of WAV <br />formatted audio out to 25 simultaneous groups of speakers. The simple browser based interface <br />facilitates easily accessible manipulation of custom audio files for use as class change tones or <br />emergency notification alerts. The VE6025 features text -to -speech conversion and provides on <br />demand access of pre -loaded audio files via web browser or contact closure. Schedules may be <br />automated based upon day of the week, calendar date up to one year in advance, or may be <br />manually controlled. <br />2.5 SYSTEM EQUIPMENT <br />A. Speakers: System speakers shall be capable of utilizing standard Cat6 infrastructure for installation <br />from the MDF or IDF's as applicable, to the classroom and/or zone, thus allowing for only one type <br />of wiring infrastructure within the school. Full IP talkback speakers must be used per classroom. <br />Each classroom MUST be individually accessible and independently controlled. <br />B. IP talkback speakers for classrooms and other necessary talkback locations — shall provide two- <br />way communication with hands free talkback ability. <br />In talkback areas (primarily classrooms), IP Clock/Speaker Combo parts # VE4031A-A <br />(combo with analog face clock), or # VE4031A-D (combo with digital clock). Note: Backboxes <br />are required for the combo models listed. Recessed backbox model for both VE4031A-A and <br />VE4031A-D is # VB -R19. Surface mount backbox model for both VE4031A-A and VE4031A-D <br />is # VB -S20. (Network drop/switch required per classroom). For all Talkback areas requiring <br />Call Buttons (Switches), use part # V -2972 -PK. <br />C. Analog (for "common" area one-way paging areas) 2'x 2' Lay -In Ceiling Analog self -amplified <br />Speakers, Model VE9022A-2 OR Wall Speaker, Model V-1 052C Wall -Mount (no backbox required) <br />self -amplified, OR Wall/Ceiling Square Speaker V -1920C self -amplified must be connected via Cat6 <br />cable. These speakers may be "daisy -chained" per common area zone and be IP controlled per <br />zone via IP Audio gateways. In special hard ceiling common areas (such as bathrooms, etc.) <br />Speaker Model # V-1 920C One -Way Speakers may be used. Recessed Backbox VB -R12 or <br />Surface Mount Backbox VB -S11 to be used with V-1 920C speakers. These may also be used in <br />any areas for wall mount applications if necessary. <br />D. Interior Common Area Paging Loudspeaker Horns — Surface mounted one-way analog horn <br />speaker with integral amplifier and volume control. Install with necessary brackets and vandal <br />resistant enclosures where requested and connected with Cat6 cable. Speaker qualities: <br />1. Speaker assembly, part #V-1080. Use V-9809 vandal resistant enclosure for surface mounting. <br />(If recessed / flush mount vandal resistant enclosure needed for any area, use V-9805.) <br />2. Impedance greater than 600 Ohms nominal. <br />3. Signal Level: -10dBm line level. <br />4. Output rating: 108dB at 4'-0" <br />5. Signal noise ratio: -70dB e. <br />6. Frequency response: 400Hz to 10kHz . <br />7. Power requirements: 200mA at 24Vdc. <br />8. Voice Coil: 0.75" diameter, 45 Ohm. <br />9. Dispersion angle: 120 degrees horizontal, 90 degrees vertical. <br />10. Constructed with filled polypropylene, gray, surface bracket fabricated with 16 AWG CRS and <br />finished with black weather resistant E -Coat. <br />11. All Hardware shall be stainless steel. <br />12. Operating temperature: -4 to 131 degrees F. <br />13. Operating humidity: 0 to 85% non -condensing. <br />14.
