VOICE & DATA COMMUNICATIONS <br />Section 16760 <br />15-1207 <br />B. Provide Shop Drawings. Submittal format shall be electronic PDF's. <br />1.4 INSPECTION, TESTS AND GUARANTEES: <br />A. After installation is complete, in addition to the required testing specified herein, and at such <br />times as the Owner directs, the Contractor shall be present while the Owner conducts <br />operational test of the network electronics connected to the cabling system. The installation <br />shall be demonstrated to be in accordance with the requirements of these specifications. Any <br />defects revealed shall be promptly corrected, re -tested and the documentation updated at the <br />Contractor's expense. <br />B. All work and all items of equipment and materials shall be guaranteed as described in the <br />General Conditions. The Contractor shall be notified in writing of any defective items and shall <br />repair or replace such items promptly without cost to the Owner. <br />PART 2 — PRODUCTS <br />2.1 GENERAL: <br />A. The Contractor shall supply the products detailed in this specification. If not specified, the <br />Contractor can select products of suitable quality and workmanship. For any products selected <br />by the Contractor, the Contractor is required to submit product documentation including the <br />manufacturers original literature, product specifications and testing reports. <br />B. The specified cabling system provides a standardized media and layout for backbone and <br />horizontal cabling, standard connection interfaces and a consistent and uniform network design <br />across all buildings. The specified products are to establish a level of performance and <br />warranty. Other cabling systems equal to the specified will be allowed and considered for <br />approval during the submittal process. Following installation, the Contractor is required to <br />provide a warranty certificate (with cable test report), validating that the cable installation. <br />C. Consistency: Any given item of equipment or material shall be the product of one manufacturer <br />throughout the facility. <br />D. Provide Complete: Provide all auxiliary and incidental materials and equipment necessary for <br />the operation and protection of the work of this Section as if specified in full herein. <br />2.2 OTHER EQUIPMENT: The following equipment is also needed for the successful completion of <br />this project: <br />A. Vertical Cable Management Systems: For every rack/cabinet, vertical cable management <br />systems will be required for the length of the rack on each side of the rack (2 per rack). The <br />vertical wire managers shall be the same as the provided rack manufacturer. <br />B. Horizontal Cable Management Systems: The horizontal wire managers are required above and <br />below each 48 ports of horizontal UTP cabling. The numbers of panels needed are as required. <br />In addition, horizontal cable management systems will be required for cable management at the <br />network electronics. One horizontal management system will be required for every 48 <br />terminations. <br />C. Power Protection Strip: A power protection strip is required for each rack/cabinet.
