ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS <br />Section 01350 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. Work includes special environmental, sustainable, and "green" building practices related to <br />energy conservation and efficiency, indoor air quality, and resource efficiency, including the <br />following: <br />1. Special Requirements: <br />a. Require practices to ensure healthy indoor air quality in final Project. <br />b. Maximize recycled content in materials, products, and systems. <br />C. Maximize use of reusable and recyclable packaging. <br />d. Maximize use of products with low embodied energy (production, <br />manufacturing, and transportation). <br />e. Contractor is required to comply with sustainable building practices during <br />construction and when considering materials for substitutions. Refer to <br />Article 1.03 Design Requirements. <br />1.02 RELATED WORK SPECIFIED ELSEWHERE <br />A. Section 01151, Construction and Demolition Materials Recycling Requirements <br />B. Section 15010, Mechanical General Conditions <br />C. Section 15855, Packaged Air Conditioning Units <br />1.03 DESIGN REQUIREMENTS <br />A. Owner has established general environmental goals for design and for construction of the <br />Project. Contractor, subcontractors, suppliers, and manufacturers (construction team) are <br />encouraged to participate where possible to realize Owner's environmental goals. <br />1. Intent is for environmental goals to be achieved in a manner which ultimately <br />provides a safe and healthy environment for building occupants with minimal impact <br />on the local, regional and global environment. <br />B. Environmental Goals: <br />Refer to specific Specifications sections for more detailed construction requirements <br />related to specific materials and systems. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Resource Efficient Product Data: <br />Environmental Issues Data: Submit the following information, including <br />manufacturer's certifications, verifying information, and test data where <br />Specifications sections require data relating to environmental issues including but not <br />limited to: <br />a. Project Recyclability: Submit information to assist the Owner and Contractor <br />in recycling materials involved in shipping, handling, and delivery, and for <br />temporary materials necessary for installation of products. <br />
