IRRIGATION <br />Section 02810 <br />Project 15-1207 <br />E. Cable Connections: Install cable connections in a waterproof sealing pack. <br />F. Wire Splicing: Permit splicing only on runs exceeding 500 feet. Locate all splices within <br />valve boxes. <br />G. Cable Termination: Install cable in a valve box with eighteen inches (18") of slack cable <br />coiled and individually capped with approved waterproof sealing pack. Ground cable at <br />all cable terminations. <br />3.10 FLUSHING LINES <br />A. Thoroughly flush lines prior to installing valves, performing hydrostatic testing, or <br />installing sprinklers. Divert water to prevent washouts. <br />3.11 AUTOMATIC CONTROL AND QUICK COUPLER VALVES <br />A. Install where shown and where practical; place no closer than twelve inches (12") to <br />walk edges, building walls, or fences. Refer to detail for example. <br />B. Thoroughly flush mainline before installing valve. <br />C. Install valves in ground cover areas where possible. <br />3.12 PIPING <br />A. General: Install in conformance with reference standards, manufacturer's written <br />directions, as shown on Drawings and as herein specified. <br />B. Workmanship: <br />1. General: Install sprinkler irrigation equipment in planted areas throughout the <br />site. <br />2. Coordination: Organize location of sleeves with other trades as required. <br />C. Pipe Line Assembly: <br />1. General: <br />a. Cutting: Cut pipe square; remove rough edges or burrs. <br />b. Solvent -welded Connections: Use materials and methods recommended <br />by the pipe manufacturer. <br />C. Brushes: Use non -synthetic brushes to apply solvents and primer. <br />d. Cleaning: Clean pipe and fittings of dirt, moisture, and debris prior to <br />applying solvent or primer. <br />EL <br />
