GLAZING <br />Section 08800 <br />15-1207 <br />B. Sealed Insulated Glass: Overall thickness to be 1 inch; outside glass to be W thick with the <br />specified coating on surface 2, outside glass to be W thick clear, and air space to be '/2". <br />Glass to be Quality Q-3 Select, and heat strengthened except where safety glazing is <br />required. Provide at all exterior glazing except where otherwise indicated. <br />1. Bronze Tinted Float Glass: Low -E, PPG Solarban 70XL (2) "Solarbronze" / Clear with <br />a Visible Light Transmission of 40%, U -Value of 0.28 / 0.26, and Solar Heat Gain <br />Coefficient of 0.21; or excepted equal. <br />C. Tempered Float Glass: ASTM C1048-92. Fully horizontal tempered (after cutting to final <br />size) to achieve a flexural strength 4 times normal glass strength. All tempered glass is to <br />have permanent etched label signifying compliance with CBC Section 2406a and the <br />Consumer Product Safety Commission 16 CFR 1201 C1 and C11, Type: Class I or II as <br />shown. <br />D. Monolithic Tempered Glass: '/2" thick monolithic tempered glazing, clear, as manufactured by <br />PPG Industries Inc., or accepted equal. <br />E. Mirror Glass: ASTM C1036 Type 1, transparent flat, Class I clear, quality Q-1 mirror select; <br />1/4" thickness. <br />2.02 GLAZING ACCESSORIES <br />A. Setting Blocks: Blocks shall be semi -hard neoprene or silicone rubber of the sizes <br />recommended by glass manufacturer. Refer to LOF-ATS 103, Glass Blocking Guidelines. <br />B. Glazing Compound: For glazing in metal surrounds, 3M "Weatherban" PF 5422. <br />C. Glazing Sealants: Acrylic Terpolymer; Tremco "Mono" or accepted equal. <br />D. Glazing Tapes: Butyl preformed glazing tape, 3M "Weatherban" PF 5422. Glazing systems <br />for each sash condition shall be in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. <br />E. Filler Rod: Compressible synthetic rubber or foam; chemically compatible with sealant used. <br />F. Primer -Sealers and Cleaners: As recommended by sealant manufacturer. <br />G. Mirror Glazing: <br />1. Glazing Channel: J -Ben Model No. A718VT, manufactured by Hoskin and Muir, or <br />approved equal. <br />2. Mirror Adhesive: Super Set Micro -Mastic, manufactured by Palmer, or accepted equal. <br />3. Mirror Clips: 1/4" CRL lucite, manufactured by the C.R. Lawrence Company, Inc., or <br />approved equal, with oval head screws in lengths as required. <br />2.03 FABRICATION <br />A. Cut glazing with smooth, straight edges to full size required by openings and to obtain <br />bearing along entire width of pane. <br />3 <br />
