ACOUSTICAL CEILINGS <br />Section 09510 <br />15-1207 <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 SUSPENDED CEILING SYSTEM <br />A. General: Main beams and cross tees shall be in accordance with the California Building <br />Code, Section 803 for Category D, E and F as described in ESR -1308. <br />1. Structural Classification: ASTM C 635, C 636, and the DSA IR for Heavy Duty systems. <br />2. Material, Finish and Color: Suspension system members to be galvanized coated. <br />Exposed material to be factory finished in low sheen satin white unless noted otherwise. <br />3. Suspended Ceiling System: Prelude XL 15/16" Exposed Tee System in accordance with <br />ASTM E 580, as manufactured by Armstrong World Industries or accepted equal. <br />B. Attachment Devices: In accordance with the drawings and these specifications. <br />C. Wire for Hangers and Ties: In accordance with the drawings and these specifications. Wire <br />shall be galvanized with Class 1 zinc coating, carbon steel conforming to ASTM A641 of <br />gauge certified by load test data as capable of carrying 5 times design load but in no case <br />less than size No. 12, with soft temper and minimum tensil strength of 70 ksi. <br />D. Ceiling grid components: In accordance with the drawings and these specifications. <br />1. Wall Moulding: Nominal 7/8 inch x 7/8 inch x 144 inch hemmed, pre -finished angle <br />molding, part #7800. <br />2. HD Main Beam: 15/16 inch x 1-11/16 inch x 144 inch, part #7301. <br />3. Cross Tee: <br />a) 2 ft. Tee: 15/16 inch x 1-3/8 inch x 24 inch, part #XL7328. <br />b) 4 ft. Tee: 15/16 inch x 1-1/2 inch x 48 inch, part #XL7341. <br />4. Main Beam Splice: Manufacturer's standard. <br />5. Expansion Joint: Manufacturer's standard in accordance with ASTM E 580 <br />E. Accessories: <br />1. Beam End Retaining Clip: Item # BERC2, 2 inch, 0.034 inch thick, hot -dipped galvanized <br />cold -rolled steel per ASTM A568 as manufactured by Armstrong World Industries or <br />approved equal. Use to join main beam or cross tee to wall molding at attached wall and <br />unattached wall condition. <br />2. Seismic Joint Clip: Item # SJC, 5 inches x 1-3/4 inch, hot -dipped galvanized cold -rolled <br />steel per ASTM A568 Armstrong World Industries or approved equal. The two piece unit <br />is designed to accommodate a seismic separation joint for cross runner support at main <br />runner. <br />F. All other materials, not specifically described but required for a complete and proper <br />installation of ceiling systems, including all necessary clips, wires, and accessories to <br />complete the suspension system. <br />5 <br />
