The General Contractor shall provide recesses, anchorage and back-up blocking in sizes and <br />in locations as required for proper installation of all accessories. Coordinate with other trades <br />where necessary to make provisions for installation. <br />B. Securely anchor all items in place in locations and at mounting heights indicated. Where <br />specific dimensions are not noted, installed as directed by Architect. <br />C. Securely fasten grab bar mounting plates to solid framing or blocking, in accordance with <br />CBC. <br />D. Provide cut-outs in toilet partitions for napkin disposal units as required. <br />3.03 INSTALLATION <br />A. Install fixtures, accessories and items in accordance with manufacturer's printed instructions <br />where shown or as directed by Architect. <br />B. Install plumb and level, securely and rigidly anchored to substrate. <br />C. Use concealed vandal -proof fastenings wherever possible. Adhesive installation not <br />permitted. Provide anchors, bolts and other necessary fasteners, and attach accessories <br />securely to walls or toilet partitions as recommended by manufacturer for each item and each <br />type of substrate condition. <br />D. Grab bars: Solidly anchor grab bars to withstand minimum downward pull of 500 lbs. <br />between any 2 supports after installation. <br />E. Verify type, location and attachment methods of items furnished by Owner to ensure proper <br />preparation of substrate for solid attachment of accessories. <br />3.04 CLEANING AND ADJUSTING <br />A. Upon completion of installation, remove manufacturer's temporary labels, marks of <br />identification. Thoroughly wash surfaces, remove foreign materials, polish surfaces. Leave <br />entire work in neat, orderly, clean, acceptable condition as approved. Replace damaged <br />parts, surfaces which are not free from imperfections. <br />3.05 PROTECTION <br />A. Protect work and materials of this Section prior to and during installation, and protect the <br />installed work and materials of other trades. <br />B. In the event of damage, make all repairs and replacements necessary to the approval of the <br />Architect at no additional cost to the Owner. <br />4 <br />
