MOLINTAIN HOUSE SPECIFIC PLAN H <br /> 9.9.2 Pedestrian Facilitles <br /> Master Plan Summary <br /> The Master Plan encourages pedestrian travel through provision of a complete network of <br /> walking paths and sidewalks. In addition to the multi-use paths designed to facilitate.safe <br /> pedestrian travel, additional facilities are provided alor►g roadways,within parks, and at <br /> higher intensity areas such as the Tcmn Center Pedestrian facilities will include <br /> sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, benches,lighting,trash containers, and signage. The <br /> design of multi-use paths will facilitate safe pedestrian travel in addition to bike travel. <br /> Each Specific Plan will designate the locations.of bicycle and pedestrian faculties, <br /> Plan Description <br /> SP Il Provides a pedestrian system as depicted In Figure 9.2- 5PIl Bicycle and Pedestrian <br /> System- In addition to sidewalks,the system includes: <br /> + Class I multi-purpo7;e paths along Arterials. These will be eight feet wide,except for <br /> 10-foot wide paths an Great Valley Parkway(path on east side only)and 10-foot wide <br /> paths o Mountain H❑Use Parkway south aMyon Road(path on west side anly). <br /> • Class I multi-purpose path through Mountain House Creek Park(six-foot wide path❑n <br /> west side and eight-foot wide path on east side), Central Community Park,and Old <br /> River Paris(12-foot wide paths), <br /> S4=! ht-foot wide trails within the age-restrleted-Neighborhoods I and J including a <br /> trail allang the UPRR right of way and along the�akesfopen space features of <br /> Neighborhoods K and L, (E[gure 4.71, <br /> Six-font wide trails along portions of the lake and open space network in <br /> Neighborhoods K and L and along bath sides of Dry Creels,{Figure 4,8). <br /> SPII Implementation Measures <br /> 1. Pedestrian Crossings. At each signalized intersection where pedestrians are <br /> expected to cross,a pedestrian crossing signal shall be.Provided. <br /> 2. Pedestrian Features. The design of each cam merclal area and the Town <br /> Center shall include pedestrian-oriented features,such as narrowed <br /> intersections to reduce crosswalk distance,small-radius corners,and <br /> pedestrian-actuated signals. Site plans prepared as part of Development <br /> Pennit appiications shall Incorporate direct and convenient pedestrlan <br /> connections,including those between sidewalks and building{entrances and <br /> between cul-de-sacs and abutting streets. <br /> 3_ MHCSD Pedestrian Facility Requirements, All implementing public <br /> improvement projects shall compty with the appiicable provisions of the <br /> MHCSD Development Standards¢see Section 1:General Design <br /> Requimme nts and Section 2:Street Design Standards),Design Manual,as <br /> amended(see Chapter Three:Stneetscapus and Chapter Five:#paths), and <br /> Roadway Improvement Plan. <br /> 4. MHCSD Transportation and Transit-Related Reg uIremepts.
