The
design of multi-use paths will facilitate safe pedestrian travel in addition to bike travel.
Each Specific Plan will designate the locations.of bicycle and pedestrian faculties,
Plan Description
SP Il Provides a pedestrian system as depicted In Figure 9.2- 5PIl Bicycle and Pedestrian
System- In addition to sidewalks, the system includes:
+ Class I multi-purpo7;e paths along Arterials. These will be eight feet wide, except for
10-foot wide paths an Great Valley Parkway(path on east side only)and 10-foot wide
paths o Mountain H❑Use Parkway south aMyon Road(path on west side anly).
• Class I multi-purpose path through Mountain House Creek Park(six-foot wide path❑n
west side and eight-foot wide path on east side), Central Community Park, and Old
River Paris(12-foot wide paths),
S4=! ht-foot wide trails within the age-restrleted-Neighborhoods I and J including a
trail allang the UPRR right of way and along theakesfopen space features of
Neighborhoods K and L, (E[gure 4.71,
Six-font wide trails along portions of the lake and open space network in
Neighborhoods K and L and along bath sides of Dry Creels,{Figure 4,8).
SPII Implementation Measures
1. Pedestrian Crossings. At each signalized intersection where pedestrians are
expected to cross,a pedestrian crossing signal shall be.Provided.
2. Pedestrian Features. Site plans prepared as part of Development
Pennit appiications shall Incorporate direct and convenient pedestrlan
connections, including those between sidewalks and building{entrances and
between cul-de-sacs and abutting streets.
3_ MHCSD Pedestrian Facility Requirements, All implementing public
improvement projects shall compty with the appiicable provisions of the
MHCSD Development Standards¢see Section 1:General Design
Requimme nts and Section 2:Street Design Standards),Design Manual,as
amended(see Chapter Three:Stneetscapus and Chapter Five:#paths), and
Roadway Improvement Plan.
4.
