COMPLAINANT HAD A <br />HARD TIME BREATHING AND THEIR EYES AND THROAT WERE BURNING. The <br />complainant also reported a chlorine smell. The complaint rinsed their nasal <br />cavities with water. Complainant would like a call back, as he is concerned for <br />others' health safety. <br />Called business and spoke to Ben (209-368-8100). Ben reported that only All <br />Purpose Cleaner is used. and food grade sanitizing liquid. No chlorine is used. He <br />was advised to vent the area. <br />I called Ben back to check on his findings. Ben reported that he vented the men's <br />restroom and reported that no chemical smell was detected at that time. There <br />were no evacuations. No additional exposures were reported. <br />Facility was advised to evaluate the compatibility of the chemicals that they are <br />using. <br />Called to update complainant. Complainant reported he was experiencing a <br />headache and called public health nurse and was advised to rest; if any symptoms <br />get worse complainant should go to the Emergency Room. <br />Notified Dr. Maggie Parks, (SJC Public Health Officer) of potential exposure via <br />email. <br />09/16/2021 Reviewed complaint for exposure at facility in preparation for abatement.
