D Chlorpyrifos D Chlorpyrifos To help minimize bystander exposure and offsite movement of chlorpyrifos during applications and reduce runoff after applications. These conditions apply to products containing chlorpyrifos labeled for the production of an agricultural commodity. 1.Use the following minimum application setback distances for applications adjacent to sensitive sites as defined by the label or designated by the Commissioner: Application Method Minimum Setback Distance (ft) Ground Boom 25 Chemigation 25 Airblast 50 Aerial (Fixed wing or rotary) 150 The setback distance extends in all directions from the edge of the sensitive site to the edge of the treatment area. Setbacks are in effect only during the application. Do not apply this product if anyone is in the setback area. Exception: Handlers, and vehicles and persons riding bicycles passing through the setback area on public or private roadways are permitted. 2.All applications must take place with a minimum wind speed of 3 mph and not more than 10 mph as measured at a height of four feet above the ground. 3.For airblast applications: -Spray the outside crop row from outside in, directing the spray into the treatment area and shutting off nozzles on the side of the sprayer away from the treatment area. -Shut off top nozzles when treating smaller trees, vines, or bushes to minimize spray movement above the canopy. 4.APPLICATION CONDITIONS TO PROTECT SURFACE WATER Incorporate or clean-up granules that are spilled during loading or are visible on the soil surface in turn areas. Use is strictly prohibited around all residential areas, including single and multi -family residential properties, nursing homes, schools (except athletic fields where use may continue), day care facilities, and hospitals. 2. The products must only be used outdoors for control of burrowing pests, and are for use only on agricultural areas, orchards, non -crop areas (such as pasture and rangeland), golf courses, athletic fields, parks and recreational areas, cemeteries, airports, rights-of-way, earthen dams, and other non-residential institutional or industrial sites. 3. Products must not be applied in a burrow system that is within 100 feet of a building that is or may be occupied by people or domestic animals. This buffer zone for treatment around non-residential buildings that could be occupied by people or animals has been increased from 15 feet to 100 feet.
