An application may not exceed the rate of 3321b ai/ac. <br />3. The use of 1,3-D in greenhouses is prohibited. <br />4. The permittee shall provide a valid recommendation to the CAC that has been approved by the registrant before the CAC <br />may accept the NOI and allow the application. <br />5. Application is prohibited within 100 feet of any occupied structure, measured from the perimeter of the application block to <br />any occupied residences, occupied onsite employee housing, schools, convalescent homes, hospitals, or other similar sites <br />identified by the Commissioner. This restriction even applies on soils that have not experienced a 1,3-D treatment in the <br />previous two years. <br />6. Entry into the application block by any person, other than a government official or a properly trained and equipped handler <br />performing a handling task permitted by label, is prohibited from the start of the application until: seven (7) days after the <br />application is complete. This prohibition applies to all applications, including all tarp types and untarped applications. <br />7. Tarps that do not meet the requirements for any percentage reduction in buffer zone distance may be perforated and /or <br />removed according to fumigant labeling directions. <br />8. Tarps that meet the requirements for any percentage reduction in buffer zone distance mentioned on 1,3-D/Chloropicrin <br />labels must not be perforated until a minimum of nine (9) days have elapsed after the application is complete and must not be <br />removed until a minimum of one day after perforation. <br />9. All applications are prohibited during December. <br />10. 1,3-D products containing Chloropicrin are subject to the Chloropicrin permit conditions. <br />Rev. 10/17 <br />W Tree Hole- 1,3-D and Chloropic <br />CONDITION W Tree Hole Fumigation using 1,3-D and Chloropicrin <br />In addition to labeling and California regulation requirements, these conditions apply in San Joaquin Co. <br />A. For All Tree Hale Fumigations: <br />1. Notice of Intent: Required 48 hours before the start of the application. Waiver of the 48 hours must be requested and <br />confirmed by the Commissioner before the start of the application. <br />2. Minimum buffer zone distance of 25 feet. <br />3. Certified Applicator Training <br />Qualified Applicator Licensees (QAL) and Qualified Applicator Certificates (QAC) with subcategory "O" meet the labeled <br />training requirement for Certified Applicators in charge of fumigations. If the QAC or QAL does not have subcategory "0" then <br />training may be provided by the fumigant registrant (specific to active ingredient) and/or available online at <br />www.epa.gov/fumiganttraining. Training must be renewed every 3 years and recorded on the Fumigation Management Plan <br />prior to fumigant use. A Private Applicator Certificate does NOT meet this requirement and must complete the registrant <br />training prior to fumigant use. <br />4. Fumigant Safe Handling Information <br />Fumigant Safe Handling Information is required for all handlers involved in fumigation, in a manner that the handler can <br />understand, and must be renewed every 12 months. Safe handling information includes: respiratory protection, signs and <br />symptoms of exposure and emergency preparedness. The Certified Applicator must confirm handlers have received the <br />Fumigant Safe Handling Information. Fumigant Safe Handling Information can be found where the fumigant product is <br />purchased or at www2.epa.gov/soil-fumigants/safety-information-fumigant-handlers. <br />5. Fumigant Management Plan (FMP) <br />A complete FMP must be available for review at the application site at the start of the fumigation. <br />B. Chloropicrin 100% and in Combination with Other Products <br />1. Maximum number of tree holes and acreage allowed in a 24 hour period: <br />Max. Holes/Ac Max. Sequential applications within a single orchard may start no sooner than 36 hours from the completion of a previous <br />fumigation. <br />Rev. 10/17 <br />B Pesticide Use Near Schoolsites <br />CONDITION B Pesticide Use Near Schools/Day cares <br />All pesticide applications for production of an agricultural commodity within 1/4 mile (1,320 feet) of a school or day care shall <br />follow Title 3 California Code of Regulations sections 6690, 6691 and 6692. This includes applications of adjuvants and 25(b) <br />pesticides. <br />
