Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
According to Mr. Vidauri, three septic systems are currently located on the Site (Plate
2).
Proposed Septic System
The Vidauris plan to construct a new septic system for the new residence.
On -Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site address. Four septic documents were identified for the Site; two
of these were filed under different addresses:
• October 2001 permit for new septic system at mobile home. The system utilized
a 1,200 -gallon septic tank, three 40 -foot leach lines, and three 36 -inch diameter
by 25 -foot deep seepage pits (13180, main house).
• December 2005 permit for new septic system at mobile home. The system
utilized a 1,250 -gallon septic tank, two 40 -foot leach lines, and four 36 -inch
diameter by 25 -foot deep seepage pits (13168, southern mobile home).
• September 2014 Site Information documentation, including site plan with
proposed septic system indicated (13192, eastern mobile home).
• April 2015 permit for new septic system at mobile home. The system utilized a
1,600 -gallon septic tank, two 40 -foot leach lines, and two 36 -inch diameter by 25 -
foot deep seepage pits (13180, eastern mobile home).
The documents have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 55 septic systems per
square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The Site is located within a rural residential area. Beyond the immediate residential
neighborhood are vineyards, orchards, and two cattle facilities.
LOGE 2147 Page 2
