All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br />OBSERVATIONS: Fill in the safety signs prior to opening the pool. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535) Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br />letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall, pole, gate, or similar <br />permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) <br />OVERALL INSPECTION NOTES AND COMMENTS <br />NOTES <br />Make sure the following are corrected. <br />Gate opening hardware are at 38 inches. Gates and doors shall be equipped with self-closing and self-latching devices to keep <br />them securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outwardly away from the pool except where otherwise prohibited by law. <br />Hand activated door or gate opening hardware shall be located at a height no lower than 42 inches but no higher than 44 <br />inches above the deck or walkway. The pool enclosure shall have a least one means of egress without a key for emergency <br />purposes. Gates shall meet 3119B.2 of California Building Code, Title 24. <br />Hose bibs must be available within 75 feet of all deck areas, and must be protected against backflow. <br />...Part of the fence is not on permanent material. Fencing shall be a minimum of 5 feet high. Openings, holes or gaps in the <br />enclosure, doors and/or gates shall not allow the passage of a 4-inch diameter sphere. The enclosure shall be constructed <br />over a hard and permanent material equivalent to concrete: and shall be designed and constructed so that it cannot be readily <br />climbed by small children. Horizontal and diagonal member designs which might serve as a ladder for small children are <br />prohibited. Horizontal members’ shall be spaced at least 48 inches apart. No planter or other structures that can be 2 of 3 <br />Environmental Health Department climbed shall be permitted within 5 feet of the outside of the pool enclosure or within a 5 foot <br />arc. <br />...The coping in some areas is 3/4 inches below the deck. 3114B.3 Deck slope.
