SAKJOAQUIN
COUNTY
Greatness grows here.
October 25, 2021
Tristan Hartung
Dillon & Murphy Engineering
PO Box 2180
Lodi, CA. 95241
RE: Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study
2658 Drais Ave., Stockton
APN: 183-230-14 SR0084207
Environmental Health Department
Jasjit Kang, REHS, Director
Muniappa Naidu, REHS, Assistant Director
PROGRAM COORDINATORS
Robert McClellon, REHS
Jeff Carruesco, REHS, RDI
Willy Ng, REHS
Melissa Nissim, REHS
Steven Shih, REHS
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil Suitability/Nitrate
Loading Study (SSNL) dated August 2021 for the above noted location and has the following comments for
your consideration.
The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater treatment
system (OWTS) usage and the potential long-term nitrate loading impact to groundwater for the following
proposed minor subdivision.
Based on the information provided the EHD can make the following findings:
1. The Soil Suitability/Nitrate Loading Study supports the suitability for standard OWTS usage for the
proposed project on the above-mentioned parcel, pursuant to San Joaquin County Ordinance Code
Title 9, Section 9-1105.2(d).
2. The Percolation test conducted on August 26, 2021 yielded a percolation rate of 50.0 min/inch. At
this rate, a minimum 8 feet of soil separation is required between bottom of the dispersal field and
the groundwater. The SSNL reports a historic groundwater level of 135 feet below surface grade.
(San Joaquin County OWTS Standard Table 1.10.2).
3. The OWTS and its 100% replacement areas shall meet all required minimum setbacks stated in San
Joaquin County (OWTS) Standard and Well Standard.
If you have any questions please contact Michael Suszycki, Senior Registered Environmental Health
Specialist, REHS, at msuszycki@sjgov.org or (209) 589-7001.
teven hih, REHS
Program Coordinator
CC: John Dondero, 1776 N.
