For complex canopies provide perspectives, renderings,
or models.
b Illustrate method of assembly, installation, and glazing.
c Provide details for support framing, reinforcement, connections,
joints, anchors, and other fabrication and installation conditions.
d Indicate required tolerances and coordination with adjacent elements
and work of other trades.
3 Calculations: Show compliance with performance criteria and applicable loads
with stamp of Licensed Professional Engineer registered in the State.
4 Samples:
a 3 x 3 inch coating samples [showing available colors.] [in specified color.]
b 12 inch sq. glass or G7 sample (or other deck selection) samples showing profile
and finish.
c outrigger, fascia, and infill samples.
B (LEED Project Submittals)
1 Product Data for Credit MR 4: documentation indicating percentages by weight of
post consumer and pre consumer recycled content. Include statement indicating cost for
each product having recycled content.
2 Product Data for Credit MR 5: Indicate location of product manufacturer, distance from
manufacturer to project site, and mill test report for origination of materials.
1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A To ensure that completed glass canopy is structurally sound, weather tight, functional,
durable, and safe; specify that design, engineering, fabrication, and supply of all components,
materials, and products be the sole responsibility of an experienced single entity such as MASA
Architectural Canopies, Inc. It is critical that unique glass structures be both designed and
fabricated by a single, knowledgeable entity assuming complete responsibility. Piece-meal
assemblies of products from numerous manufacturers and fabricators without a comprehensive
design and engineered solution is not a method for achieving a functional, safe, glass structure.
B Single source responsibility: Design, structural engineering, and custom fabrication
for glass canopy and supply of all components, materials, and products shall be sole
responsibility of single manufacturer. Provision of products from numerous sources
for site assembly without complete single source design and supply responsibility is
not acceptable.
C Mockup:
1 (Upon written request only) Provide mockup of sunshade system including framing,
decking, louvers, and attachments at location selected by architect.
PART 2 – PRODUCTS
2.1 MANUFACTURER (SUGGESTED)
A Contract Documents are based on:
Vision Series Canopy as manufactured by:
MASA Architectural Canopies
Corporate Mailing
PO BOX 32
Saint Clair, PA 17970
800-761-7446
www.architecturalcanopies.com.
B Acceptable alternates:
Other manufacturers may bid only after written approval of the architect, obtained 10
days prior to bid opening and issued by addendum.
