Appropriate gloves are provided
and required when handling materials with sharp or jagged edges which may result in
lacerations. In addition, heavy equipment operators use radios to communicate constantly
with ground crew personnel to minimize any possible incident.
Industrial first aid kits are available at various areas of the MRF. A portable eyewash is
located in the locker area of the maintenance area. Additionally, a decontamination shower
is located in the maintenance area with a 250-gallon capacity. Hand washing facilities and
liquid hand soap are provided and their use is required for personal hygiene.
3.1.10 Wastewater Disposal
There is no on site wash water generated. The tipp i ng area is swept instead of washed down.
There is no drainage leaving the RRF build i ng.
3.2 Station Controls
3.2.1 Drainage Control (14 CCR, Section 17407.3)
In accordance with 14 CeR, Section 17407.3, the facility was designed with drainage
control features as follows:
Transfer Station
The transfer/processing of materials will occur within the 12,000 square foot building.
Rainwater from the roof of the building will be directed from the down spouts to the existing
drain ditches and then collected/stored in the sedimentation basin.
Sediment Basin
All non-contact water being directed to the sedimentation basin is sampled and analyzed in
accordance with Forward's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and Storm Water
Monitoring Plan (SWMP) prior to discharge to the South Fork of South Littlejohn's Creek, if
necessary. A Co DY of the SWPPP is ke pt at the site office. A log is kept on site record i ng the
volume of storm water discharged to the Creek.
Roads
All roads have been constructed with road base, gravel, and recycled asphalt to provide a safe
and stable surface for travel. The roads have been graded to direct run-off through the
existing ditches to the sediment pond.
Forward Resource Recovery Facility SWT Engineering
Transfer/Processing Report -May~ 2014
z:\projects \all ied waste \forward\resource recovery facility \5 yr perm it rvw 2013·14\tpr 2014\text\sec3.d oc
