Waverly
Road, four miles east of Linden, CA. The landfill is a single Class III
Waste Management Unit on an 800 -acre parcel. This Unit is comprised
of Module "I", Module 1, and future modules.- Future modules will
overlap onto other completed modules, including Module "I" until final
closure of the landfill. Waste discharged to the landfill includes
commercial and household waste, construction/ demolition waste, and
agricultural waste.
1.3 REASON FOR INSTALLING GW MONITORING WELL
The Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) has required the
installation of the new groundwater monitoring wells. The current
background well MW -4 is dry. The new well (MW -4A) is a replacement
background well. Well MW -7 is another point of compliance monitoring
well.
One new ground water monitoring well MW -4A will be installed at the
north side of FHSL and one (MW -7) south east of the landfill (Figure 1).
The location of the new GW wells are away from the refuse footprint. Well
installation work will not include drilling into refuse or contact with refuse.
Well locations will be adjusted in the field based on site conditions. The
wells will be surveyed after installation. The well depths are specified in
Figure 2.
• ► 01 :4 01111
Solid Waste Division (SWD) will schedule installation of the GW monitoring
wells after approval of drilling permit from San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department (EHD).
