Manager of Strategic initiatives RECEIVED Mr. Todd Del Frate, PG FEB 2 5 2019 Engineering Geologist Central Valley California Regional Water Quality Control Board ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH 11020 Sun Center Drive, #200 DEPARTMENT Rancho Cordova, California 95670-6114 SUBJECT: SECOND SEMIANNUAL AND ANNUAL 2018 GROUNDWATER AND SURFACE WATER MONITORING REPORT, FOOTHILL SANITARY LANDFILL Dear Mr. Del Frate: Enclosed is the Second Semiannual and Annual 2018 Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Report for the Foothill Sanitary Landfill, submitted in accordance with WDR No. R5- 2015-0058. The water at all groundwater wells meets drinking water standards, and monitoring constituents were generally consistent with previous monitoring periods. Below is a summary of the findings for this monitoring period: • MW -1 A — No general water quality parameters were exceeded during the second semiannual 2018 sampling event. • MW -2R - No general water quality parameters were exceeded during the second semiannual 2018 sampling events. • MW -3 - The concentration limit for bicarbonate was slightly exceeded during the 3rd Quarter 2018 sampling event. The concentration limit for calcium, magnesium, sodium and bicarbonate alkalinity were slightly exceeded in the 4th Quarter 2018 sampling event. No other general water quality parameters were exceeded during the second semiannual 2018 sampling events. • MW -4 — Monitoring well MW -4 was dry during the 2nd 2018 sampling event and could not be sampled. However, new deeper Well MW -4A was installed in December 2018. Due to wet weather conditions, the well was not accessible for development and could not be sampled during the 2nd 2018 monitoring period. The well will be developed and sampled as soon the access conditions improve. • MW -5 — The concentration limit for turbidity was exceeded during the second semiannual 2018 sampling event. No other general water quality parameters were exceeded during the second semiannual 2018 sampling event. • MW -6 - No general water quality parameters were exceeded during the second semiannual 2018 sampling event. • MW -7 - MW -7 was installed in December 2018.
