SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
Introduction
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Eugene Marsili to
conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for the property located at
3212 and 3225 East Woodson Road, Acampo, California (Plate 1).
The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report
cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has
been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study
Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of
Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code.
Proposed Development
A minor subdivision is proposed to divide the Site into two, two -acre parcels (Plate 2).
According to Mr. Marsili, the northern (vacant) Parcel 2 will be sold, and the southern
Parcel 1 will continue to be used as it is now (personal communication, September 16,
2021).
Site Description
The Site is defined as Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 005-145-31 and -49; these
parcels were previously merged under PA -1300048. The Site is approximately four
acres in size and located at 3212 and 3225 East Woodson Road, Acampo, California.
The Site consists of two sections, north and south of Woodson Road. The northern
section is vacant except for a large shop. On the southern section, a house, shop, and
storage building are present. A domestic well serves the house (Plate 3).
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic
map, is approximately 55 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 4).
According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer (sjmap.org), the Site is zoned R -R,
Rural Residential. The San Joaquin County Community Development Department
states that this zoning designation "is intended to provide for large lot rural homesites
within or adjacent to existing Rural Communities. Lots will generally have sufficient area
to allow for individual water supply, sewage disposal, and storm water drainage, but not
to support significant commercial agriculture."
LOGE 2150 Page 1
