Cocktail lounges and dining facilities are readily
available on Waterloo Road and at other points in the
Stockton Area.
The Stockton Junior High School Auditorium offers
cultural events such as the performances of the
Stockton Symphony and world famous musical
personalities.
The Stockton Civic Auditorium caters to fights and
wrestling and U.O.P. basketball games.
Other Public or Quasi -Public Services:
Streets are maintained by the County Department of
Public Works, both adjacent to, and ultimately within
the subdivision.
A fire in the subdivision would be answered by the
Waterloo-Morada Fire District from both the Foppiano
and Ashley Station and the Freeway Frontage Road
Station south of Morada Lane. It would take 5 minutes
at longest to reach the fire.
Pacific Gas & Electric Service is available in Cherokee
Lane. The electric service would come from lines
originating at the Cherokee Substation, a short distance
east of the north side of Cherokee Lane. Natural gas
in a 2" line runs beside the property in Cherryland
Avenue and is adequate to serve 43 additional single-
family residences.
Pacific Telephone will provide the subdivision with
telephone service installed underground.
III ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
A. Topsoil, steer manure, leaf mold, peat moss and other
organic amendments will find their way into the presently
existing soil horizons. During excavation for septic
tanks and underground utilities other horizons existing
below the existing level will be brought to the surface
and distributed in the area.
The function of the topsoil will change considerably if
this project is implemented. At present, the property
is either vacant or being used to grow walnuts. The
property is disced or plowed at least once a year now.
It is also subject to weed control herbicides and
-22-
