In accordance with a previous request from the Environmental Health Division,
PVC pipes with caps are monitored for methane at four locations. The pipes are open at the
bottom and they are approximately two and one-half feet deep.
The County used a GasTech Landfill Monitor to perform the monitoring. The instrument was
calibrated using standard GasTech gas calibration canisters prior to monitoring. The results from
the third quarter 1998 monitoring event are shown on the attached map. The readings for all
probes and structures are shown adjacent to their locations on the map.
I
If you have any questions, please call me at Extension 83066.
WJ:vj
R\V(RGINIMMEMOSTH-GAS.798
Attachment
c: Scott Walker, California Integrated
Waste Management Board
LA 63229
LA 31209
