18201 W Grant Line Road Project No. 2021-00083 Page 18
4.0 EVALUATION OF IDENTIFIED CONTAMINATION SOURCES
The subject property may have been farmed; therefore, pesticides and herbicides could have been
used on-site.
The building observed in the Google Earth aerial dated August 2018 was likely associated with the
temporary sales coach permit discussed in Sections 2.2 and 3.1.2. and was removed by April 2018.
No staining was observed in the vicinity of the ground mounted transformer observed during the site
reconnaissance.
5.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The subject property may have been farmed; therefore, pesticides and herbicides could have been
used on-site. There is no evidence at this time that agricultural chemicals were applied
inappropriately, or that currently banned pesticides were applied historically. Such conclusions
cannot be determined without soil sampling and analysis. Such sampling is especially warranted if
the land is to be converted into residential use.
The building observed in the Google Earth aerial dated August 2018 was likely associated with the
temporary sales coach permit discussed in Sections 2.2 and 3.1.2. It is unlikely this structure had
lead-based paints or asbestos containing materials.
Since no staining was observed in the vicinity of the ground mounted transformer, the transformer
is not considered an environmental threat to the subject property at this time. Should the property
owners or the EHD be concerned about PCB contamination from the transformer, the energy
provider should contacted to test, retrofit, or replace the transformer.
As the site is developed, any stained soil or sources of contamination identified should be
characterized and properly disposed in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
6.0 LIMITATIONS
This report was compiled as a Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report for the subject property.
This report contains information and data provided to Petralogix by several sources. Petralogix in
no way warrants the accuracy or completeness of the information provided to this investigation by
those sources.
The findings and conclusions of the Surface and Subsurface Contamination Report is not intended to
be an all-inclusive comprehensive review. The findings and conclusions of this review are
probabilities based on professional judgement regarding the significance of the data gathered over
the course of this investigation. It should be noted that when an environmental site assessment is
completed without sample collection and quantitative analysis of soil and groundwater beneath the
site, such as with this study, no statement of scientific certainty can be made regarding the latent
subsurface conditions which may be the result of on-site or off-site sources. Petralogix cannot fully
represent that the site or adjoining land contains no hazardous waste, oil, underground storage tanks,
Petralogix Engineering, Inc.
26675 Bruella Road, Galt, Ca 95632
(209)-400-5729
www.petralogix.com
9
